Icelandic hotel seeks photographer in exchange for free stay

Photographing Northern Lights in Iceland

BRB, I'm just going to smash a photography course, because on my bucket list it has been for a number of years that I want to go to Iceland and see the Northern Lights. Now, you are pretty good there in Iceland, but for some reason it has never happened. Maybe because I want to go to the sun instead of the cold when I go on vacation. That's why I've only been to Iceland once, at the airport in Reykjavik, on a layover to a sunny place.

Another reason is that I find it all quite expensive. Because when I go there, I don't just want to see the Northern Lights, but also cuddle with huskies, take a dip in an ice-cold bath, see all the highlights in terms of nature, and also eat at the best restaurants. Well, do the math: that costs quite a bit, but I have now come up with a new plan and for that I need to step up my photography skills.

Because a hotel in Iceland is looking for a photographer who can capture the Northern Lights for a month (YES PLEASE). Okay, you won't get paid, but you can stay in the hotel for free for a month. Seems like a great deal to me.

The hotel that offers this is Hotel Ranga, a pretty luxurious resort about an hour's drive from Reykjavik. From here you also have a view of the Hekla volcano, and you don't have to go far to capture that Northern Lights: they have an observation deck from which you can see it perfectly.

As the icing on the cake, this hotel also takes care of your flight tickets. Well, sorry, but this is a top deal, right? I'm seriously going to sign up. Just put me there for a month, okay?.
