In love with the Van Broekhuizentjes

fam. van broeihuizen

We were already on Francis. Big time (read our suggestions here)? I'm meanwhile scrolling through the first of the Monate like an addict through Elkes Nieuwsflix, but nothing, zip, nada. Even Netflix is acting suspicious... Quiet then. I want a sequel to my favorite and I want it now. But with a chronic shortage and the absence of rattling conversations, Kiki's declaration of love but). But now there are also brothers Tim and Dick who are peeking around the corner. We first saw Tim when Art Rooijakkers came to visit Francis and she took him to her parents' front yard, but he really surprised everyone when he blew everyone away at I Can See Your Voice (also take a look at that man who sang the duet Barcelona with Francis at I Can See Your Voice, you're crying) and yesterday they were there together with Humberto. Let me take you through some statements from the family, hoping that afterwards you will want to start a fan club with me.

- Francis on being lesbian. ‘I thought: why do I have that again? Why can't it just be normal? But fifteen years ago, I took everything off the internet. My house, my car, and my wife,’ she tells the AD.

- ‘I’m just your average house-garden-and-kitchen lesbian, you know. The dullest letter of the gay alphabet,’ Francis tells in Zij aan Zij.

- Mother Van Broekhuizen on homosexuality: ‘We started it.’

- Father Van Broekhuizen: ‘We initiated it.’

- Brother Tim: ‘In our family, everyone is ‘homosexual’, we put it in the food.’

- Francis on bullying: ‘It was always so cozy at home that I would forget what happened during the day and I never actually told my parents about it.’ (At Rooijakkers over de vloer)

And there they went yesterday, the three of them. They sat next to Dirk Kuijt because they are Feyenoord fans (‘But we’re not from Rotterdam, of course. But you’re not either, Dirk. You’re from KATWIJK.’), so Humberto let them sit next to Dirk (I still have to get used to his new appearance), although they were not impressed at all.

They chatted, they sang (Francis: ‘I’ve had singing lessons for thirty years and Tim hasn’t and he just sings fantastically.’), they answered each other to stop halfway and let the other have the stage.

What turns out? They are fans of De Van Rossempjes, also two brothers and a sister who view and consider life. I feel a new generation rising. Anyone still looking for a fun TV format?
