In tears over the man at I Can See Your Voice

I can see your voice

If May sends that she cried at something on TV, then that's a strong indication that you need to watch it back. I myself was indulging for hours in The Bold Type, but I had to/would/wanted to see Guus on I Can See Your Voice, I was told. So what did I do today in the early hours? Put the episode with Francis van Broekhuizen (here an ode to her) on repeat and cried. Indeed. Or better said: sobbed.

We have a Diver, the Super Trouper, Glitter Girl, School Teacher, a Glam Rocker, Mister Wedding, and the Hip Hop Girl. Just leave it to Francis and her GUT feeling (haha) to kick out the right people. It remains difficult after last season to approach Marieke, but Edsilia at least had a clear opinion: “I think he wants us to think it's him, but I don't think it is.” No, okay Edsilia, clear story.

By the way, we will soon talk about the ridiculous amount of commercials in between while watching back. I got two commercials beforehand and then certainly four times six ads shoved in my face. Fine if I can take a bathroom break in between, but when watching back you can also go too far. Okay, back to I Can See Your Voice. Here comes not one spoiler, but a whole caravan of spoilers.

The Diver: cringeworthy. Glitter Girl: what a voice. Mister Wedding: so bad it cuts through your soul, even though Francis thought otherwise. The School Teacher: wooooow, we're going to follow her on TikTok (ilonadekker1). The Glam Rocker: hahaha, what a dedication. And those moves from Miss Hip Hop, but that was about it.

But we obviously have to talk about Guus a.k.a. the Super Trouper. After that vocal coach, I was sure: this man can sing. But what a performance, what a combination with Francis, he just stood his ground. I'm going to binge-watch Barcelona for the rest of this weekend. May, you were right. Tears in my eyes. I hope we see him tonight at Beau, Monday at the Vooravond, and next time at The Streamers. You just want to hear this.

By the way, I constantly hope that all record labels are watching, because good lord, what a talent. You just have to do something with this. Tie up Miss Glitter, the School Teacher, and of course Super Trouper Guus. As Francis would say: “I believe you.”
