The Obama’s dog has passed away and Instagram is mourning

Just a preface: I can't handle animals dying. Never been able to. I still can't watch movies like Frank & Frey and even if it happens off-screen, the fact that Bambi's mother doesn't make it means guaranteed crying for me.

So yes, when you read that someone's dog has passed away, my heart breaks immediately. And that was the case this weekend when the Obamas announced that their loyal four-legged friend Bo (a Portuguese water dog) had passed away.

‘For more than a decade, Bo was a constant, gentle presence in our lives — happy to see us on our good days, our bad days, and every day in between,’ wrote Barack Obama on Twitter. Shortly after, Michelle Obama wrote that the twelve-year-old dog had died of cancer. ‘We said goodbye to our best friend—our dog, Bo,’ she wrote alongside a series of photos of their dog with the family.

I personally found the picture of Bo in his owner's place, that is: in the White House, behind the desk, extra nice from that photo series. Do dogs from the White House actually get the official title First Dog? Or DOTUS? They should implement that immediately as far as I'm concerned.

‘As a family, we will miss Bo dearly. But we are thankful that he lived such a joyful life full of snuggles, games of fetch, and evenings spent lying on the couch,’ Michelle Obama further wrote. Oooh, I can't bear to think that I will ever have to say goodbye to my meowing four-legged friend. What a nightmare.

Michelle Obama concludes the Instagram post with: ’Please hug the furry members of your family a little closer tonight—and give them a belly rub from us.’ May I have a tissue, please? I'm going to find my Pebbles now and not let her go for the rest of the day. What did we do to deserve pets?
