Monique speaks out for the first time after the breakup with André

The first interview, post-André, is a fact. Monique was in conversation with Talkies Magazine and of course her break-up was brought up. Emphasizing her break-up, because she wants to talk about herself in the interview and not about André. ‘I find it very important that the peace and circumstances that are now in place remain so,’ she says about it.

Even though they are no longer together, she certainly has beautiful memories of André. ‘In that relationship, I learned to love myself for the first time.’ She didn't do that in previous relationships, in which she admitted to being both physically and mentally abused. A beautiful, open interview with, in my eyes, a very strong woman.

Because you would have to deal with it all, and I mean the relationship with André. Suddenly in the spotlight, such a big age difference, your mother-in-law publicly tearing you down, another outing with another celebrity... I think many people would have had a breakdown or two (or three, or four) by now. Including myself. That Monique has always conducted herself neatly and respectfully towards all those involved, hats off to her.

I would say: this woman deserves a beautiful new love. But there is no room for that yet, she tells Talkies Magazine. Of course, she is very busy with her son André Junior and I can also imagine that a broken heart needs some time to heal. And she is not the type for one-night stands, so that is not really an option.

Not that we need to worry that she is very upset about it: ‘I am stable and happy.’ She does mention that it is under sad circumstances. Monique, I think you are an incredibly strong woman.
