Science proves: watching Disney movies is good for your health

Who hasn't grown up with Mufasa and Simba? With Aladdin and Jasmine? With Belle and the Beast? Disney is magical and for so many children part of their upbringing.
And not to mention about Disneyland.
Heavy subjects
But why would you actually stop watching Disney movies when you are an adult? Researchers say that watching Disney movies is actually very good for your health, especially for your mental health. American research has shown that watching Disney movies works just as well as therapy. For this study, 57 different films were examined. The stories make various ‘heavy’ subjects discussable, such as fears and death. Examples include the death of Mufasa in The Lion King or the passing of Bambi's mother.
What turns out? People who often watched films with these kinds of themes were also better able to put things into perspective in their own lives. They received, without realizing it, a kind of therapy in a light-hearted way, which they could do something with.
It will be alright
Not very cheerful perhaps, but especially with grieving, a Disney package can help you. For the scientific research, the professor studied almost all 57 Disney films from A to Z. What turns out? In the films, no less than 71 characters died. Thanks to these images, children and adults can more easily talk about emotional events from their own lives, according to science. And also think about the end of each film: there is often a beautiful life lesson hidden in it. ‘Behind every Disney film is also a particularly beautiful message. No matter how bad things are, after every negative event, everything will always be alright again.’ So put your child in front of the television: they might learn something from it. And you should just watch along too.
