This is what we already know about season 2 of Squid Game

Yesss, just go ahead and put the pedal to the metal. That there would be a season number two of Squid Game, we all saw that coming, of course. That this series would become such a monster hit, many people did not see that coming. But record after record was broken, and so that second season quickly became a fact. In fact: it is already in the making. Or rather, the storylines are being developed as we speak. That's really getting things done. I love it.

The creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, was in conversation with Entertainment Weekly and revealed a number of details. ‘The season is now in my head, I'm working on it,’ he said first. Of course, Gi-hun will return as the main character, and this season he will have to ‘choose between good and evil,’ according to Dong-hyuk.’

‘Main character Gi-hun was a winner from the past, but became a frontman. It's just like Darth Vader: some become Jedi and some become Darth Vader, right?’ Okay, okay, but does this mean that Gi-hun is heading towards the side of Darth Vader and thus joining the dark side? No, right?

‘I think Gi-hun will also be subjected to an extreme test at some point.’ Right, this sounds very vague again, but I guess this has to do with the new Squid Game, which he then wants to stop — and maybe ultimately participates again himself.

By the way, if you're completely fed up with Gi-hun, you can still look forward to this season. Earlier, Dong-hyuk announced that three storylines will be central in the second season. The first storyline will revolve around The Front Man and the policeman, one that I am very curious about. The Front Man, like Gi-hun, has won Squid Game once and is now at the helm of the tournament. How did that happen?

The second storyline I find at least just as intriguing, as it is about the recruiter of Squid Game. The man who scouts potential participants in subway stations. What is his backstory?

And last but certainly not least, we return to Gi-hun. Which way will he go? Honestly, I would find it pretty cool if they make him The Bad Guy in season 2. Let him become the new Darth Vader. Sounds awesome to me.
