The second season of Like Monica has started

Like Monica
It may be unbearable outside, but there is really enough to watch on Netflix and Videoland. So if you were smart enough to buy an air conditioner and/or a fan (I unfortunately wasn't that smart and now everything is sold out): turn it on and settle on the couch. It doesn't have to be for long, just 25 minutes, because that's how long the first episode of Like Monica lasts, and I can tell you: it's a delightful watch.

The first episode has been online since today, and to start with, it's clear that Monica feels much better in her skin than during the first season. To be honest, I already found her a positive and cheerful person back then, but she looks back on it a bit differently: she doesn't necessarily have a good feeling about it, she tells BFF Kaj.

A funny difference is that her confessionals (when she's telling on the couch) now have her just looking great in a natural look in a tracksuit, while last season she was all glammed up. I prefer this version. I also like to wear my sweatpants on the couch.

What else can we expect? Of course, the purchase of Robbert and Monica's house, including the complete renovation that comes with it. Monica hasn't shown Zara-Lizzy on her social media channels for a while, and we don't see her face here either. We do hear the conversations between her and her mother, which are really too sweet. Monica says she has become a lot less strict when it comes to motherhood. Poffertjes? Sure, sweetheart. Chocolate egg on the side? Sure, sweetheart. I would really do exactly the same due to my lack of backbone.

I would say: start enjoying that first episode, and then you'll be right back into it, just like I am. And if you still haven't had enough of Monica afterwards, I can wholeheartedly recommend her podcast with Kaj Gorgels (Geuze & Gorgels). I really laughed my head off at those two.
