This is what you missed at the Super Bowl

Small chance you stayed up all night to catch it live, but no worries: I'll go through the highlights with you. Because last night was once again the American event of the year: the Super Bowl. In other words, an event where I ultimately only know who performed and never really know which teams played. I just looked it up: the Kansas City Chiefs played against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the latter won (9 to 31 and no, I don't know if those are good scores because I absolutely don't understand the sport). The MVP was Tom Brady, quarterback, who you probably mainly know as Gisele Bündchen's husband.

Well, moving on to the important part: the performances. The Weeknd had the great honor of providing the halftime show. Last year's show was provided by J.Lo and Shakira, so you know that the bar is set quite high for you. It seemed like The Weeknd didn't care at all, because he put on an incredibly cool show as if it was nothing. You can check it out below.

The setup was of course very different due to corona, but that allowed them to utilize the stage in a completely different way — most people see it through the camera anyway. So there he suddenly was in a sort of underground maze. If you've been following The Weeknd a bit lately, you know that he mainly wore bandages around his head and afterwards had quite a (fake) puffy face. According to him, this was a protest against the large amount of plastic surgery that celebrities undergo: everything is being remodeled these days and he clearly has nothing to do with that. Just pure speculation, but could this also be a little jab at ex Bella Hadid?
Buuut The Weeknd wasn't the only star to take the stage. Amanda Gorman — who immediately gained superstar status after the inauguration — to recite a poem. Yes, check that out below as well. What an amazing woman.
By the way, I found the cardboard silhouettes they used as an audience hilarious. Yes, I know: it can't be helped with corona, but it looks so dry. There were 25,000 “real” fans in the stadium and 30,000 cardboard fans, each of whom cost 100 dollars to make... Quite pricey audience then. It was even funnier that among those cardboard people were also celebrities. They had Billie Eilish sitting there (made of cardboard, of course), Ozzy Osbourne, DJ Khaled, Lady Gaga, and more. And even drier was that they just took a photo of Lady Gaga while she was performing. Oh well, fine solution, it seems to me. At least there's nothing to laugh about.
