Honestly, when was the last time you attended a masterclass? I'm just asking because it's been a while for me. Until I saw something new pop up on Instagram. Creative entrepreneur Ron Simpson has developed Skybox, a masterclass academy where you can book workshops and one-on-one sessions with the crème de la crème of the creative industry.
Suddenly, I started to feel a buzz. Sometimes I have no idea which direction to take with my creativity. Then there's a hyperactive peak, followed by a valley. Which way do I actually want to go? Before I knew it, I filled out a registration form and a few days later I stepped into the elevator to the top floor of The Student Hotel.
Ron (the one from the parties, the avocado restaurant, the network, and God knows what else) felt like The Person to do a masterclass session with. I was a few months lost in my Mojo (who wasn't during the corona period?) and could use some inspiration. Let's just say that after about fifteen minutes with Ron, I already felt brain activity at levels where it had been quiet for a while.
He made me think about questions I hadn't really thought about at all. Who are you, what do you do, how do you do it, and why? If you know the answer to that, you can present yourself much better. Then you know which course you are going to sail. What your compass will be. Where you are going to spend your time. And especially: which things you are going to reject. What your mission will be.
The hours flew by. The ease and openness with which he talked about his personal life. The successes, the business lessons, the fuck-ups, the experiences... When I walked outside again, all senses were sharp. Anyway, you get it: if you're feeling a bit of that corona blah and want to shake things up a bit: Skybox is the place to be.
