What you drink says more about you than you think

When it comes to drinking, I prefer wine with food, gin and tonic at a bar, and a white beer on the terrace... It really depends on the location for me, but various studies suggest it goes beyond that. Your favorite drink might say a lot about your character. You'd want to know that when you pour yourself a glass tonight.

1. White wine
People who enjoy a good glass of white are extroverted and feel comfortable at the center of a gathering. It is noteworthy, however, that white wine drinkers tend to behave more awkwardly after a few drinks.

2. Red wine
There's a good chance you'll encounter people who love red wine early in the morning, as they like to get up early. Red wine drinkers are also not averse to a bit of adventure from time to time, so you might just see a hiker in the wilderness enjoying a good glass of red in front of their tent.

By the way, did you know that the IQ of wine drinkers is often higher than average? Now, we don't want to say that drinking wine makes you smart; it's probably the other way around, but still.

3. Beer
Beer drinkers are social beings and easy to get along with; they have a knack for fun and prefer to be the last to go home.

4. Spirits
It does depend a bit on whether you choose the category of dropshot or whiskey, but enthusiasts of distilled drinks are often connoisseurs with taste. The funny thing about drinking a strong glass of alcohol is that 42 percent of drinkers feel sexier. That says little about character, but more about the effect. Oh, and just a warning: strong drinks will make you cry the fastest.

5. Black coffee
Of course, it's not just alcohol that counts, as we (ideally) drink coffee more often than something with a percentage. If you meet a black coffee drinker, you have someone in front of you who is straightforward and quite no-nonsense.

6. Cappuccino

As a cappuccino drinker, you like to have control over the situation and can be a bit demanding. But if you're a beer drinker who also enjoys cappuccino, then you balance one with the other and actually have the perfect middle ground.
