Whut: Netflix raises prices immediately

It can never be normal there at Netflix, can it? They make us wait way too long for our favorite series (Sex Education? YOU?), give us out of nowhere the hit of the year (because yes, you’re probably obsessed with Squid Game too) and then they suddenly decide to raise the prices immediately. They probably thought: great, we’ve broken another record with Squid Game, you all have to pay for that. Literally.
There are currently three types of subscription plans at Netflix and two of them are going to change. The cheapest remains the same: it is still €7.99 per month and is the Basic Subscription, one where you cannot add multiple users.
You can do that with the Standard Subscription and the Premium Subscription, and both prices are going up. The first was €10.99 and is now (because it’s going up immediately) €11.99. Yes, that means you now make two euros ‘profit’ if you share your subscription with someone else, because this subscription is for a maximum of two people.
The Premium Subscription can be shared with five people and goes up two euros: from €13.99 to €15.99. I guess the reasons behind this are that Netflix wants as many people as possible on that most expensive subscription. Well, they succeeded, you know. With a bit of reluctance, because in my memory those prices were really just raised. But okay, here’s the deal: you give us Squid Game, we give you more money.
