You benefit more from that primer than you think

Let it gloooowww, let it glow. With this weather, you want to wear as little makeup as possible and show off those natural freckles (if you have them) again, right? That's why I'm leaving the foundation as it is, but I'll use a concealer at most to cover that red spot. Today I want to make my skin glow by using a primer with a shine. Now you might think: a primer, but no foundation? Yes, that’s possible. A primer fills in fine lines and softens the redness in your face, and not unimportantly: it provides extra hydration. So for today, one with a lovely glowy finish so that you look radiant in the sun without looking like a disco ball. To prevent that, I’ve put together a list of do’s and don’ts for you and of course also the most beautiful products. Here they come.
Do’s:
1. Maybe it’s obvious, but I’ll say it anyway: look for a primer that suits your skin type.
2. Use clean fingers when applying. Place a small amount (about the size of a pea) on your fingertips, warm the primer by gently rubbing it between your fingertips, and then carefully apply it to your skin.
3. Do you want to fill in some more fine lines? Then use a little extra primer and apply it with a flat (clean) foundation brush.
Don’ts:
1. Scientific research shows that silicones, which are often found in a primer, do not cause your skin to clog. This would lead to impurities, but that’s not the case at all. You can compare silicones to a gauze that you place on a wound, so your skin can still breathe. Pores can indeed clog due to sebum and dirt, which silicones tend to keep on the skin better, and that’s why it’s important to cleanse your skin well every day. The appearance of a pimple is therefore more related to not cleaning your skin than to the ingredient.
2. Do you have oily skin? Then it’s wise to use a primer that prevents excess sebum production. Apply it to the areas where your skin gets oily quickly. Then apply the glow primer again locally on your cheekbones, just under your eyebrows, and a little bit under your eyes for a healthy and fresh look. There are also primers for oily skin that leave a shiny layer, but since we’re not using foundation today, I would prefer the first option. A bit more work, but it results in a beautiful outcome.
3. A primer is the first step in your makeup routine and not the last step in your skincare routine. You apply the primer over your day cream and SPF. Even if your primer has a factor, don’t leave your sunscreen in the cupboard.
4. Never use too much primer. Everything with ‘too’ is of course not good; a thin layer is sufficient.
5. Apply the primer on a clean and cared-for skin. So don’t apply a primer if you’ve been doing all sorts of things all day. Always wait a bit after applying your SPF before applying your primer, until it has absorbed well. In the meantime, go brush your teeth or make a nice cappuccino.
A glow primer can also be beautifully applied to your neck, legs, and arms. Especially these with a nice shine are recommended:
