Armie Hammer has become a salesman in the Cayman Islands

Armie Hammer

Do we know the scandal surrounding Armie Hammer still? I still find it one of the most fascinating scandals of a Hollywood star. Although: ‘star’? Armie Hammer's career struggled to take off so much that renowned journalists even wrote articles about it.

The actor is probably best known for the film Call Me By Your Name, with Timothée Chalamet, but if you used to watch Gossip Girl you might have seen him too: he played Gabriel Edwards in season two, Serena's boyfriend. Notably, according to Hammer, he was fired from the series because Blake Lively requested it.

As an actor, he may not have really succeeded in becoming an A-lister, but he is at least famous and infamous. Early last year, several women came forward with stories about Hammer, claiming he had abused, assaulted, and even raped them. Multiple screenshots were leaked between him and his bed partners, in which he admitted to having ‘cannibalistic tendencies’. He claimed that he once, by his own account, pulled the heart out of a deer with his hands and took a bite. He also told his ex that he would like to take one of her ribs out, throw it on the barbecue, and eat it.

Well, that didn't sit well with the general public, and Armie Hammer became a persona non grata. The unfortunate thing for him was that he had already been that for a long time with his wealthy family. His father was in the art trade (and appears in the Netflix documentary Made You Look) and is himself quite controversial, his mother is very religious and disapproved of her son's acting career.

Armie fled to the Cayman Islands, where his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers was staying with their children. Armie's parents reportedly also have a luxury villa there.

But money really runs out when you have no income, and it seems that Armie Hammer has realized that too. TMZ received several photos of the fallen actor, during — what seems to be — his new job. He is said to now be a salesman in timeshares: selling ‘time slots’ in luxury accommodations, in this case in the Cayman Islands.

He sold a luxury villa for $2,020 per week, which is yours for a week each year. Well, bargain, right? From the photos from TMZ, it certainly doesn't seem like he will be making a comeback in Hollywood anytime soon.
