Modern Greek restaurant Kaia in Amsterdam

As a sort of evangelist, I always tell everyone how blessed, delicious, mouthwatering (and more of these kinds of descriptions) modern Greek cuisine is. Most people always think of Greece as just having a gyros. There's nothing wrong with that, because sometimes that's just a solid eight plus. Normally, I only get that contemporary cuisine on my plate in Greece itself, until now. In Amsterdam, Kaia opened its doors at Europaplein (next to PAUW, yes) and everything that appears on your plate is πολύ ωραία, which roughly translates to focking fantastic. To be honest: your wallet does need to come along, but then you get something in return. I tasted the oysters, which you want to eat if you love passion fruit, took some bites of the excellent Greek salad and the beetroot, and then came the showstopper, because for the red mullet papillotte, I would eat there every day. Extra fun: they serve not only the usual European wines but also particularly tasty Greek wine. That really completes it. In the mood for a real night out, but a bit Greek? Kaia is your spot.
