Kanye West is temporarily blocked on Instagram
Have you been keeping an eye on Instagram a bit these past few days? And specifically Kanye ‘Ye’ West's account? Things have been pretty wild there lately, but recently Ye has really turned it up a notch. It all had to do with a selfie that Pete had sent to him, with the text that he was in bed with ‘your wife’. Aiii. No, that didn't sit well.
On top of that, Kim was a guest on Ellen DeGeneres‘ show, where she – to be fair – looked radiant. And the whole world was allowed to know; she said she was really incredibly happy and that she wanted to hold onto this feeling forever. Quite sweet, actually. She also mentioned that Pete has already gotten several tattoos for her and that the first one is her favorite: he has ’My girl is a lawyer' proudly displayed on his body. Not that Kim is a real lawyer, but still, very sweet. But again, this was just the first tattoo and by now there are already several on his body. In fact, he doesn't even just stick to tattoos anymore; he has branded her on his chest. Reason: he is going to have many of his tattoos removed and a brand or scar ultimately doesn't disappear. Intense.

This hasn't really sat well with Ye in recent days and it showed on Instagram. He posted things like that Pete (or ‘Skete’ as he calls him) wanted to have sex with babies (he referred to a bit from one of his stand-up shows) and he said he didn't want Pete near Kim because he was afraid he would help Ye's ex with drugs. The next 24 hours will be quiet around Ye's explosive posts, because yes: he is blocked.
Instagram decided that because he would spread hate and would be guilty of online bullying. Well, that's a bit of an understatement by now, right?
By now, he is not only involving Kim and Pete in his online tirades, but also Trevor Noah had to face it. And that while he left a comment yesterday on one of Ye's posts that I actually found very strong.
However, Ye was clearly not pleased with this response and posted a photo of Trevor Noah with racist texts alongside it. And that was the last straw for Instagram, which kicked Ye off the platform. The Today Show (of which Trevor Noah is a part) has not yet responded.
The 24 hours have already started six hours ago, so there is a chance we might see Ye appear on Instagram again in a few hours. But to be honest, I hope not; it has to end at some point, right?
