Kim Kardashian steals the show at Balenciaga, but daughter North is fed up

Kim Kardashian and North West

So, that was quite a runway show from Balenciaga yesterday. A glimpse of A-listers was drawn: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Dua Lipa, and Nicole Kidman walked in the creations of the fashion brand. And... Christine Quinn? I found that a surprising addition, as the general public knows her mainly as the über Mean Girl from Selling Sunset. With this show, she made her debut on the red carpet.

That Kim Kardashian was involved in the show at Paris Fashion Week was perhaps to be expected, as she has been seen in their creations for a long time. And to be honest: she really does everything for this brand. I'm still surprised that she hasn't been seen with these limited edition sneakers (which suspiciously resemble my post-Lowlands pair). But even at the Met Gala Balenciaga managed to get her to go completely, from head to toe, in black. And this time it was a hit again: she was spotted (even at the dining table) wearing a black plastic mask. I don't know what it is with Balenciaga and Kim, but it seems they prefer that she never shows her face.

How on earth is someone supposed to eat like that? Kim made headlines with the last Met Gala because she was strictly dieting to fit into Marilyn Monroe's dress, but this doesn't seem like the right way to lose weight. You might as well just put on a mask.

But even by walking around with a kind of plastic full-face helmet, she still wasn't the star of Paris Fashion Week; that was actually her daughter North. She accompanies her mother during this Fashion Week and has to deal with all the paparazzi present. And she has some thoughts about that.

Kim and North were dining at restaurant Ferdi in the French capital, after which they ended up in a swarm of paparazzi. North didn't quite understand that and asked: ‘Why do you always have to wait for us all of the time?’ Honestly: just a good question. Waiting hours for that one (hopefully) successful photo doesn't seem very inspiring to me.

But the paparazzi weren't discouraged and responded (while the present fans had to laugh hard) with: ‘We love you, because you’re so famous.’

From the photos of Paris Fashion Week, I sometimes think that 9-year-old North is my spirit animal.
