Overview: these are the consequences of the #BOOS broadcast so far

That the episode of #BOOS sparked quite a bit yesterday is, I think, the understatement of 2022 and it's only January. If you haven't seen/want to see the episode, you can find a summary of everything that was discussed. It was to be expected that there would be a counter-response today, but in what form? From whom have we heard something? Below is an overview.

  • The public broadcaster has announced that they will no longer play songs by Ali B and Marco Borsato on their channels (3FM was already doing this).
  • Videoland has taken the documentary of Ali B offline, just like all episodes of The Voice of Holland.
  • In the AD, there was a gigantic advertisement from the ‘women of the company’ to John de Mol. ‘Dear John, it’s not the women’s fault.’
  • Qmusic is also not currently playing the music of Ali B and Marco Borsato.
  • On Instagram, it is of course also the most discussed item of yesterday and today. Below you see a selection of the reactions from Famous Netherlands.
  • Ali B's followers are also decreasing and his friends/acquaintances from famous Netherlands are distancing themselves from him: Beau van Erven Dorens, Chantal Janzen, Peter van der Vorst, Nienke Plas, Anna Nooshin, Nicolette van Dam, Waylon, Robbert Rodenburg: they all no longer follow him.
  • That does not apply to everyone: Johnny de Mol, the children of Marco Borsato, Giel Beelen, Carlo Boszhard, and Glennis Grace still follow him, making Glennis Grace the only coach from The Voice who still follows him.
  • Angela de Jong wrote in her column for the AD: ‘There sat an old white man who truly has no idea how the world works in 2022 and apparently doesn’t read his sister’s magazine. A man who is so detached from reality that he cannot imagine that candidates attribute a position of power to his brother-in-law Jeroen.’
  • Online, there were rumors that Famke Louise would be one of Ali B's victims; she has denied this herself on Instagram.
  • Ali B is still in Dubai for now, Jeroen Rietbergen was spotted at Schiphol today.
