Will we get airplanes where we sit opposite each other?

Personally, this is really a terrible nightmare for me, and I can't imagine that people find this a nice idea. Why would you design this? If companies like KLM and Transavia don't get it in their heads to implement this in their airplanes: seats where you look at each other. A TikTok went viral where this was the case and the reactions are clear: ‘new fear unlocked’. I completely agree: if someone has a fear of flying the last thing you want is to have to stare into the eyes of a stranger while suppressing a panic attack.

This happened to Megan Homme from Chicago, who didn't know what hit her when she stepped onto the plane. Notably, this has been happening in airplanes for a long time, but then in business class. These types of seats are very popular, but in economy (with strangers facing you) it's a different story.

Megan received this unpleasant surprise from a Swedish airline, but Southwest Airlines has also experimented with it in economy. And to no one's surprise, it was received so poorly that it was soon decided to go back to the seats as we know them. Please don't let this be the new travel trend of 2023, okay?
