50 euros for 10 minutes of parking?!

It can all happen in The Hague

May car parking

I still find it hard to believe that it is more expensive to park your car anywhere else in the world than in the Netherlands. Around the canal belt, it is now €7.50 per hour and in some parking garages, it can go up to €9 per hour.

If you didn't need to be on a ventilator yet, I would suggest you pull out the oxygen tank now, because in The Hague, a new experiment has started.

There you pay €50 for parking in the center, regardless of how long you stay. If you stay for a day, you pay €50, but if you are there for three minutes and just activated your parking app before you realized it, you still pay €50. Suddenly, the parking price is €5 per minute.

The idea is to push people to park their cars in the parking garages and keep the center car-free I understand it a bit, but the way in which I find very unkind.

Suddenly, I no longer find it hard to believe that the Netherlands dominates the list of the most expensive countries to park in. With flying colors, we are at the top.
