Bizarre: Britney Spears knocked down in Las Vegas

Heavy news from Las Vegas, where Britney Spears is currently with her husband Sam Asghari: last night she was hit hard by a security person there. She was having dinner at the restaurant Catch (unrelated side note: Catch is also in LA and New York and is really a recommendation, should you ever be there) and saw basketball player Victor Wembanyama (who plays for the San Antonio Spurs). She had seen him earlier in her hotel, but now she decided to say hello and congratulate him on his success as an athlete.
However, Wembanyama's head of security thought differently. When Britney tapped the basketball player on his shoulder, the security guard jumped in between to then hit Britney hard in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and her glasses to fall off her face.
Britney and her team have since filed a report with the police, who will investigate this incident. TMZ spoke to a witness who saw it and also heard how hard the slap was. According to that witness, Britney was furious (duh) and shouted: ‘This is f*cking America.’
Britney has since responded on Instagram, in which she writes among other things: ‘I am constantly surrounded by all these people. To be precise: that evening. I was surrounded by a group of at least twenty fans. My security team did not hit any of them.’
She also writes that she has not yet received an apology from the athlete, his security, or the team he plays for and that she finds it particularly cruel that the athlete seemed to laugh after this happened.
I found it striking that sources close to the athlete told US Magazine that both Wembanyama and his security ‘did not recognize’ Britney. As if that makes a big difference? If it wasn't Britney but a ‘regular’ fan, would it then be okay to take someone down? Bizarre.
