I can be your hero, babyyyyy. I can kiss away the pain, OHH YEAAAH. What a wonderful song this still is, I must say. I really feel incredibly old when I think about the fact that this song is already from 2001 and I did my very first sliding dance to it during my first year camp. Ah, the memories.

But anyway, Enrique has quite a few hits on his CV, especially from the Hero era. That hit is on his second album Escape, but his songs Bailamos, Rhythm Divine, Not In Love (what a lovely lyric too: ‘I’m not in love, it’s just a phase that I’m going through’ perfectly describes many of my teenage years), Tired of Being Sorry, Takin’ Back My Love… All so enjoyable.

In the following years, he took a slightly different turn with songs like Tonight (I’m Fuckin’ You) and I Like It with Pitbull, which didn’t really stand out in originality. But still: Enrique Iglesias is a living legend and still incredibly handsome. And apparently, he is still performing, but whether that is really a good idea…

Currently, he is on tour with Ricky Martin and Pitbull, in other words, the dream concert of every millennial. Every concert, Enrique gives it his all. TikTok is full of it. Just not quite for the reason he hoped, I fear: it turns out he actually can’t sing at all and that is really hilarious.

It’s seriously a bit in the category ‘it’s two o’clock in the morning, let’s sing karaoke because that’s a BRILLIANT plan’, only he gets paid millions for it. He is completely in his element, hits no notes at all and then rides the stage for almost a minute. Does that bother us? No way, we still love this man. Although the audience has a hard time holding back their laughter and the comments are hilarious.

‘I wasn’t even here and still want my money back’ is one example. ‘Is this an impersonator? What happened to the real Enrique Iglesias?’ But the funniest one I think is: ‘Sing to me, Paolo!’, something many Lizzie McGuire-fans will recognize.

Well, just watch it yourself; I could really watch this video a thousand times, it’s always funny. Never change, Enrique, I really want to sing terribly off-key karaoke with you.
