J.Lo is under fire for her own alcohol brand

It seems like a real trend in Hollywood: having your own alcohol brand as a celeb your own alcohol brand. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were perhaps the pioneers here with their Miraval (which I actually find more than fine to drink) but nowadays it’s almost unusual if a celeb doesn’t have their own alcohol brand. Take Kendall Jenner with her 818 Tequila; did we ever think she was passionate about tequila? She also received quite a bit of criticism at the time because it didn’t really fit her image.
However, that criticism pales in comparison to the heaps of negativity that J.Lo is currently facing. Jennifer Lopez launched her own brand Delola last Tuesday, which includes a tequila, vodka, and amaro spritz in the collection. So alcohol, and that doesn’t sit well. Why is that? For example, because J.Lo has indicated multiple times that she doesn’t drink at all. ‘I don’t drink or smoke and I don’t drink caffeine either. That’s really devastating for your skin as you get older,’ she once said about it. Having your own alcohol brand doesn’t seem very logical then.
There’s another reason why this move isn’t really appreciated, and that’s because of her husband Ben Affleck. He is very open about his alcohol addiction and sought help multiple times; in 2001, 2017, and 2018 he went to a rehab clinic to overcome his addiction. His own wife is therefore marketing her alcohol, while alcohol is such a sensitive issue for him.
A striking business move from J.Lo. She hasn’t responded to all the criticism yet, so I’m very curious about her own explanation.
