Is the male pill really coming now?

Years ago, I often saw these news reports and each time I thought: that's never going to happen. A contraceptive for men has actually been in the making for a long time, but I never really heard any definitive news about it. I didn't really see it happening that men would be able to use contraception. However, it increasingly seems that I was wrong, and it is rare that I am so happy to be mistaken.

That male pill is here and it works. At least on mice. They conducted the first tests on them and they were very successful. This male pill ensures that a certain protein in the sperm is numbed, preventing men from fertilizing anyone during sex. An additional plus: this male pill contains no hormones.

Disadvantage: you have to take the pill an hour before sex and then it works for a number of hours (in mice, it was three hours). So it's not ideal for unexpected sex, and if you hope for a one-night stand after a night out, you should best take it around one o'clock at night with a beer.

But well, they just have to accept those disadvantages; women have been taking hormones for years, with the most ridiculous side effects. I feel that the time has come. The men are up next.
