A new romcom is coming to Netflix again

It feels like it's been a while: a deliciously cheesy romcom. I miss them a bit. Recognizable? Good news, because on April 21, there will be a brand new one online on our favorite streaming service. With a familiar face: one of the lead roles is played by Rachael Leigh Cook. I mainly know her from She’s All That, but the younger generation will probably recognize her from another Netflix romcom: Love, Guaranteed. It gets a 5.6 on IMDb and I think that's still a pretty high score for a romcom. Will she be the new Netflix face of cheesy comedies?

Okay, let's go through the plot, even though we all know how it will end. After an unexpected break-up, Amanda gets the task from her job to go to Vietnam and then go ‘undercover’ to see how tourism is really doing. There she meets Sinh (played by Scott Ly), who is her tour guide. Of course, they fall in love, but oh no: Sinh doesn't know that she's actually just there for work and not as a real tourist.

It's not shown in the trailer yet, but this is how I guess it will go: Sinh gets very angry, they break up for a bit, and through a grand romantic gesture, Amanda manages to make things right and then decides that her life in America is way too insignificant and that Vietnam is more beautiful and she can really be herself there. They lived happily ever after.

On April 21, we'll see if I'm right, but I have every confidence in this. In any case, this romcom looks enjoyable again and I think a setting like Vietnam is a very nice addition.
