YES: is Sephora coming back to the Netherlands?
Can someone pinch me? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? This is really the best news of the day. No, of the year. I really mean it; every time I go abroad, one of the first things I do is check if there is a Sephora. But by the end of this year, that will be a thing of the past: Sephora is finally coming back to the Netherlands. According to TikTok account Sephora Netherlands, a store will open in The Hague on December 23.
Does this mean we can finally score Fenty Beauty, my all-time favorite, Rare Beauty, and so many other beautiful brands in the store? There goes all my savings...
The news was announced via the TikTok account, which has only existed since the beginning of this month — probably created for this reason. The annoying thing is that while the account has an official name, there is little to indicate that it is the real Sephora. So there is a very real chance that this is a cruel joke from a TikToker who knows how much the Netherlands is waiting for this.
As an Amsterdammer, I would naturally find the choice for The Hague a pity, but it is much closer than where the nearest Sephora currently is, and I view this very positively: this is just the first. Many more Sephoras will follow in the Netherlands. I can feel it. This cannot be fake news.

Update: The TikTok turned out to be fake, Sephora tells NOS News. But... when asked about a possible location of Sephora in the Netherlands, we get a ‘we're working on it’ as a response. Could it be soon?
