As a Swiftie, I obviously find this news absolutely not fun at all. No, I had never heard of Travis Kelce before he was spotted with Taylor Swift, but since day one, I am a fan of this new romance. And it was about time, because I found that weird fling with Matty Healy to be ten times nothing — the nickname Ratty Healy is quite fitting in my opinion. No, Travis Kelce is a hundred times better: he shows her off, he is proud, gallant, makes friendship bracelets and trades them with her fans… Actually, there is not a single hint of imperfectionism in him.

But is it perhaps too perfect? As every Taylor Swift expert knows, this woman does nothing accidentally; everything is meticulously planned. So too her hard launch with Travis Kelce and all the public PDA. That’s why I heard some malicious tongues in the corridors (or rather: TikTok and Reddit) speculating that their relationship was a PR relationship for both. Their first public outing was, for example, on the same day that Travis Kelce signed a huge collaboration with Pfizer, so a little extra publicity is never a bad thing. And for Taylor Swift, this kind of publicity comes in handy, although her popularity is at such an unprecedented peak that I don’t think it’s possible to make her any more famous.

Honestly, I didn’t believe it, but this TikTok has made me doubt a bit. User @thekylemarisa_ shared a snippet of an interview, in which it seems that Travis Kelce's publicist let slip about the authenticity of the relationship. She allegedly told a makeup artist that it’s all for PR. And that makeup artist then told that to the girl in the TikTok. Yes, yes, I know: nice via-via-via-vi, but it’s suspicious.

Especially since the publicist, named Pia Malihi, recently had a birthday and shared some congratulations in her Instagram Stories. She made sure there was a clown face over Taylor’s. Uh, excuse me…?

I find that Instagram Story very bizarre, because why would you do that? Especially knowing how intense those Swifties can be (she has certainly noticed that by now, as she has been immediately bombarded to persona non grata by the diehard fans).

For now, Pia Malihi still has her job, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she has to look for something else soon… For someone who works in PR, she is certainly creating quite a bit of bad PR for her biggest client, namely Travis Kelce.
