Where is that sun?
The reason why it is still not spring weather

Last year, the first warm day was already in February. Probably not entirely healthy either, but now it's almost May and I still dare not bring the basket with gloves and scarves to the attic. ‘They’ say that it might be nice weather this weekend, but it certainly won't be more than a pathetic 17 degrees. How can this be?
According to the weather men from Weerplaza (those poor people almost have to justify themselves personally for the fact that we still can't sit outside), it all has to do with the wind. Normally it is west-southwest and now east-northeast, and with those currents, weather models apparently have a lot of trouble. Now we are being served a cold front from Eastern Europe instead of enjoying a warm high-pressure area from Scandinavia.
Meteorologist Rico Schröder explains it all on Nu.nl and tries to comfort us with the thought that it can all be even worse. In 1997, we would have had to wait until May for the temperature to rise above 20 degrees. Well Rico, I'm afraid we are going to break that record this year.
