Why peaking early on Friday is actually a really good idea

Yeah, I'm already counting down; the weekend is almost here. I can almost feel it. Almost taste that first beer. Ooh, or a rosé. Either way, drinks will be had. But unfortunately, my alarm goes off at eight in the morning tomorrow because I have a tennis match at a quarter past nine in the morning. On Saturday. I don't agree with this either, but my doubles partner and I decided: we're going and we're going to win this, so it's going to be an early peak tonight.
And then I realized: early peaking is actually so underestimated. Because that's what I'm going to do tonight: start early, finish early, still have a really fun evening, and crush that match tomorrow. And maybe this will be my new routine, because there are quite a few advantages to that early peaking.
1. You experience the euphoria of closing the laptop with colleagues and already open your first drink in that same euphoria.
2. There's a good chance you'll go for a liquid dinner and skip the whole dinner: also good for your wallet.
3. As Ted Mosby said in How I Met Your Mother: nothing good happens after 2AM… But that's not a problem for you, because by then you've long been out of it.
4. You have plenty of time to catch up with everyone, because when people switch to going to the club or busy bar, you switch to your bed and that's fine; because after that, no one can understand each other anyway.
5. You wake up with a bit of a headache, but thanks to your long night's sleep, you're functioning just fine and you're just really fit on Saturday night.
6. You get the most out of your weekend: both that cozy drink, that long night's sleep last night, and tomorrow you're just back in charge.
7. And you experience the best moments, because when from half past eleven everyone is actually too drunk for a normal conversation or smart decisions, you're gone, and they probably forget what else happened or who was there. In fact, you could easily convince them that you just enjoyed the whole evening.
8. Your colleagues see your fun side, but not your too-drunk side (because then you go home); you're just doing some good networking.
9. You never wake up to scandalous late-night messages you sent to your situationship or ex, because you were already snoring away (side note: so DO NOT send those extremely early during the early peak because that's no fun for anyone).
10. And to elaborate on that: you're already out cold when you get any awkward proposals that you would have accepted if you were drunk. No regrets on Saturday morning!
11. So the next time people make fun of you for leaving early: early peaking is the new staying up late and you're just a pioneer. A very big player.
