With this trick, you save about 90 percent of your iPhone battery

Always that eternal battery empty and as soon as you walk into the office, immediately asking for that charger. Past tense. With this golden trick, you save about 90 percent of your iPhone battery.
And it's not even complicated: it has everything to do with your settings.
Suddenly I only need to charge my phone once every three days. I’m not kidding. It’s about background app refreshing. That happens constantly, without you realizing it. And it literally drains your battery. But the weird thing is: you don’t need it at all. You still receive all your notifications, apps, and reminders while saving your battery by turning off ‘background app refresh’.
Done in no time
So the golden tip. Here’s how you do it:
- Tap on the Settings app.
- Tap on General.
- Tap on Background App Refresh.
- At the top is the ‘on/off’ function. Swipe it to ‘turn everything off’.
And voilà: your friendly friend suddenly lasts for days without complaining. You know, just like in the good old Nokia 3310 days. What the function actually does? Some iOS apps can be refreshed in the background. As long as the app in question is not completely closed, the app can continue to download and refresh data, which costs you percentages. And you don’t need it at all: as soon as you open your apps, everything works again immediately. And you miss nothing, because all your notifications just come in. You can also choose to do it only when you're on Wi-Fi, which saves you GBs. And then you can choose per app which ones you find very important to keep updating. But you miss nothing from most apps, really.
No iPhone? Alright, here’s how it works for the Android users among us:
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Data Usage.
- Tap Data Saver.
- Tap Allow Data Usage while Data Saver is on.
