Do you also understand little about Oppenheimer?

This is how you get through the three hours well

By
OPPENHEIMER

The film Oppenheimer is a masterpiece and will snag quite a few Oscars (this is included in the goodie bag of the Oscars) but the story and the way it is portrayed by Christopher Nolan are so complex that understanding the film can be a challenging task. The story is about J. Robert Oppenheimer (also quite funny to put an initial for your name), the father of the atomic bomb. Do you find the film quite difficult, just like I do? With these strategies, you will understand it better.

1. Nolan likes to jump through time
In the film, you easily move from one time period to another, which can be disorienting.

2. Drink a lot of coffee (here you drink the best coffee in Rotterdam and Amsterdam)
Oppenheimer is very dialogue-based. The dialogues are beautiful, but fast and complex. Dozing off is dangerous because you might miss important information.

So make sure you appear fresh at the start, because you will be bombarded with complex dialogues for three hours.

3. Pay attention to black and white and color
Nolan alternates between scenes in color and in black and white. Black and white are the factual representations of the story, such as the interrogations of Oppenheimer. Everything in color is from the perspective of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

4. Make sure you read up
Both about the communist movement in the US at that time and the Chevalier incident. So dive into the history books. And if you're unsure between renting the film or buying it at Pathé Thuis, I would choose the latter. You want to see the film at least twice: because it is so beautiful, and yes, also to really understand it well.
