Just a moment about Johan Derksen
Could this be the reason why he walked away?

A long time ago, we formulated the core values that an article from Amayzine must meet. It had to get a checkmark for at least three out of five: urban, trend-following, funny, fashionable, and it could be light-hearted content, as long as you put some thought into a nice angle.
The next topic definitely has a checkmark shortage, and yet I am writing it. Because it does touch on the feeling of the day; what you talk about when you take the dog out and you have a chat with the owner of that other animal that sniffs all the noble parts of your animal (just imagine if we did that).
Then we are talking about Johan Derksen. Because our national grump just walked out of the studio live during a broadcast yesterday. The chair was pushed back, the tie was pulled down, and off he went. “I think you’re a great fool,” Derksen said. “You know what, I’m done with it. Let him get lost, I’m going home. It’s over for me.” And off he went. Wilfred Genee managed to squeeze out a “drive carefully,” and there they sat. For at least a million viewers with an empty chair.
What now?
Sometimes, I, and probably you too, get the feeling that those irritations are just formatted together. That they have surely learned to appreciate each other over the years, but turn up the antipathy a bit when the camera lights are on. All for the ratings, I suppose.
It wasn’t that bad what happened in the broadcast. No heated discussion. Just Wilfred making a joke about the fact that he skipped a topic of Johan. Or that Johan thinks Wilfred skips his topics.
And then it was over. Done. And out. But we’ve heard that before. We still remember candle-gate, right?
Anyway. Whether it’s a set-up, an incident that can be mended, or if this really means the end of the program, we will probably know tonight.
I’m not watching, I have better things to do. Because one thing is for sure: it will be discussed extensively again. Maybe even by me.
