Netflix tip of the day: No Hard Feelings

No Hard Feelings

Yess, finally. I am genuinely looking forward to recommending this movie to you today. I've already seen it, but I paid for it. Now it's finally on Netflix and we can all watch it for free – I'm just going to watch it again tonight. This is actually a romcom that is seriously funny and not so standard; just really a fun comedy. That might also be expected with an actress like Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role, because she is an incredibly good actress. We haven't seen her in a comedy before, so that's a bit exciting; luckily, she also turns out to have a great sense of humor in her acting (we already knew that side from her interviews).

No Hard Feelings is the movie that is about Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) who doesn't exactly have her life in order, and that's quite an understatement. She is an Uber driver and can no longer pay her rent, even her car is being repossessed (which is a pretty essential item if you're a taxi driver). Her main goal: to make money, and as quickly as possible.

Then she stumbles upon a unique job listing: two parents are looking for a girl to date their son. Their son, Percy, is quite socially awkward. He is incredibly intelligent, going to an Ivy League university after the summer, but has zero experience with girls. Maddie decides to respond to the job listing and despite being thirteen years older than Percy, her parents give her a chance.

Okay, the next part is a bit predictable, but despite some false starts, the two do click and even become friends — perhaps in love? I'm not going to spoil too much; you just want to watch this one, tonight.
