You are going to love this new feature of Instagram

It feels like it's been a while since Instagram introduced a new feature that was first of all original (many of their new features are often borrowed from other social media apps) and secondly useful (that wasn't always the case). This new feature has it all for me, there's just one downside: I don't have it on my account yet. But that's just a matter of time, as Instagram is slowly rolling it out to all users now.

The new feature is called ‘flipside’ and can be recognized by the little key that appears (or will appear) in the bottom right corner when you're on your own account/feed. When you click on it, you get a different feed with a dark mode, where you can post different photos. What’s the point of this? The photos you post on your flipside are only visible to a specific audience that you can select.

So basically, this is just the same as posting your Stories for your selected best friends, but for your posts. Incredibly useful, right? Especially for people who don’t want to ‘ruin’ their feed with certain photos and are going for a certain aesthetic, or for people who prefer not to post those embarrassing party photos à la The Hangover for the general public, but only for a select group.

This new feature is not available to me yet, but no stress if that's the case for you too; this new feature is not a test for certain accounts, but we will all eventually be able to use it. Handy.
