This is what Quinty Trustfull does on Sunday

And you would never have expected that from her

Since Koffietijd has stopped, we have to miss her in our morning ritual. But Quinty is Quinty is Quinty and sitting still is not part of Quinty’s repertoire. She regularly treats us to a complex yoga pose on her Instagram channel, is the station voice of HGTV (really a lovely channel for a relaxed afternoon with lots of houses and gardens), and has designed a new collection for Summum, one of her favorite clothing brands that was launched this week.

Dear Quinty, how are you?
I am doing very well. I have peace in my head and peace in my agenda. That’s why I now have time for other projects, but also time for that coffee (by the way, did you know that your coffee says something about your personality?) or to exercise a little extra and I notice that after working so hard for twenty years, I really enjoy it.

That orange suit is also something I really love.

This week you launched a new collection for Summum Woman. What was the inspiration and what are your favorite items?
Cool and the Glam is the title, people want to celebrate life again. There are many weddings again, festivals and parties, so my third collection with Summum is festive, so you are ready for that festival, that party, or if you just want to do some beautiful shopping. I think the Pieno party jacket and the glitter suit with top and pants are amazing because you can also combine them separately. It’s also a bit of a capsule collection because you can mix everything together. That flower that you can wear as a corsage or as a belt is also very trendy. And oh, that orange suit is also something I really love.

Your daughter Moïse is in the campaign with you. That must have been a party. How would you describe your relationship?
Our bond is very good. Of course, we are mother and daughter, but we are also friends and can work and travel together very well. We look a lot alike and can really clash sometimes, but then it’s over again. It’s super special to do a shoot like that with your daughter. We will save these photos for later.

Now let’s move on to this section. It’s Friday at 5:00 PM. Where are you, with whom, what is playing through the speakers, and what is on the table?
Either I’m enjoying yoga to wrap up the week nicely or it’s nice to have drinks with friends. A nice glass of wine and snacks, music in the background, and chatting. We love the old André Hazes or R&B, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz… Orlando is our DJ, so I let him do his thing, I don’t interfere, and I like everything he plays.

Suppose earthly matters like time difference, flight shame, money, and travel time don’t exist for a moment. What does your ideal weekend look like? Starting in Atlanta and then via Curaçao to Amsterdam?
The city of Atlanta has a special place in our hearts. We also love Curaçao, where we got married, but I would also make a stop in Suriname, as we still have family there. Then we would eat there and fly back for a yoga class in Amsterdam and then collapse on the couch with the cat on my lap. That would be a top weekend.

I hardly listen to podcasts. I’m happy when there’s a bit of silence, the world is busy enough.

What do you like to read and listen to on the weekend?
I hardly listen to podcasts. I’m happy when there’s a bit of silence, the world is busy enough. I don’t read much at the moment because I’m very busy with daily life. The household, exercising, a lot of chores… I don’t have time to read and that’s completely okay for now. I’m very much in the here and now.

Does Sunday feel different than Saturday?
For me, Saturday still feels a bit like Friday, Sunday has a different feeling. It starts with my one-and-a-half-hour yoga class and then I’m going to make pancakes because Sunday is pancake day. The whole family comes to eat pancakes and then we chill. A bit of tinkering in the garden if the weather is nice, taking a walk around the neighborhood, and then cooking and eating with the family. Then topping off the weekend with a nice series. We just finished The Gentlemen, fantastic, and are now watching The Warrior.

What’s on your list of restaurants you must and want to go to?
Oh dear, what not? We often go out to eat with friends, Niven and Virginie, who have the restaurant Triptyque (with a green star). They regularly take us to another Michelin restaurant. On Monday we’re going to eat again in the Utrechtsestraat at a restaurant that just received a star. I would love to eat at the new Rijks that has just been renovated. I love food so much. Ideally, I would visit every good restaurant on this planet, but I think that’s not going to happen...

Final question: will we see you on TV again soon?
There won’t be a new Koffietijd coming up anytime soon, but I have participated in some things that are still coming and I can’t say anything about. An interior program at HGTV would of course be very nice, and I already voice all their programs with a lot of love. Until something new comes along, I’m enjoying life immensely.
