Blaise Metreweli is the coolest woman in the world
and now also just the boss of MI6

Blaise Metreweli is the coolest woman in the world. Period. And yes, I say that with full conviction. Because this woman is not only super smart, stylish, and multilingual, but she is also just the very first female head of MI6. You know, the British secret service where James Bond works. And her? She is now officially his boss. Move over, M, there’s a new C in town.
From Q to C (in other words: from gadgets to the big boss)
If you think: ‘hey, Q, I know that from somewhere’, then you’re absolutely right. Blaise was first known internally as Q – the top woman in technology within MI6. Think: cybersecurity, AI, innovation, all those sexy 007 gadgets that James Bond normally fills his Aston Martin with? Blaise was right on top of that.

And now she is C. That stands for Chief. And yes, that is exactly the role Judi Dench once played to perfection in the Bond films. Only Blaise is not fiction. She is real. And hotter than all the M’s combined, if you ask me.
From the Cambridge rowing boat to the espionage network
Blaise studied social anthropology at Pembroke College, Cambridge. And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, she also won the Women’s Boat Race in 1997. We always love that, a woman who has both brains and brawn.
In 1999, she started at MI6 as a ‘case officer’ (read: the James Bond of real life). She worked undercover for years in the Middle East and Europe, was promoted to director, and eventually got the role of Q. If that’s not climbing the career ladder, then I don’t know what is.
Diversity, technology, and Arabic
What makes Blaise extra cool is her vision. She firmly believes in more women and tech diversity within the intelligence service. Because let’s be honest: espionage has long been a boys' club. Blaise breaks through that with a lot of flair and without hesitation. She speaks fluent Arabic (of course), understands everything about AI (seriously), and knows how to manage a global cyber war effectively. You could say: the dream of every tech start-up, but then undercover.

Oh, and she has also been knighted
In 2024, Blaise received the CMG distinction (Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George) for her contribution to foreign policy. Think of the female version of a ‘Sir’, but then in heels and with titanium intelligence. Love it.
Why we want to be her
- She is so smart that even Bond would probably ask her for advice
- She is the first female head of an ultra-secret men's club
- She makes technology something super sexy
- She shows that you can perfectly combine style and brains
- And secretly: because she’s a bit our girl crush with something. And if you absolutely must wear those pumps, make sure they are a pair with an ankle strap, so your leg is broken up again. Also very nice: a nice sneaker. Nikes, Vans, Mipacha’s, actually anything works, and such a sporty shoe creates a nice contrast with the sexy skirt.
5 reasons why Blaise Metreweli is the new power heroine
- She was Q, is now C – from gadget boss to chief of secret agents
- She learned Arabic for her work in the Middle East
- She has elevated MI6 tech to a higher level with a focus on AI
- She fights for more women in espionage & tech
- She is the only real M we will ever need
And unfortunately, she doesn’t have Instagram. Understandable. But still a shame.
