Just a quick note about Carrie’s kitchen in And Just Like That

Criticism of the third season of And Just Like That
There is quite a bit of criticism of the third season of And Just Like That, and I have particularly big problems with Carrie's kitchen. Look, that And Just Like That remains a mediocre spin-off of Sex and the City I already know. The second season was really better than the bumpy first part, but if you look me, a huge fan and Sex and the Cityspecialist, directly in the eyes and ask if it's good, I unfortunately have to say no. No, it's not good.
Why I still watch Carrie and Co.
Being a fan of And Just Like That and Team Carrie is like choosing a football club. You don't suddenly become a Feyenoord fan just because Ajax has a bad season. So yes, the storylines are weak, some dialogues, where puns are stacked on puns, make your toenails curl, but still, I look forward to it every Thursday. I love being briefly in New York, seeing the outfits of Carrie, Charlotte, Lisa, and Seema (I like Miranda's outfits a bit less this season), I love Harry and Aiden – oh, he was never my favorite character anyway, so I think it's perfectly fine that he was banished to Virginia. So I have plenty of opinions about it and it ain’t good, but I take all of that for love of the series.
Carrie's kitchen just doesn't make sense
But this kitchen of Carrie – it really doesn't work. As a program maker, you try to design the sets „in character“. They should fit the respective character. In that, the makers of Sex and the City were true masters – exceptionally good. But now? Carrie is with Aiden, but she is also a wealthy widow in her sixties who loves luxury. The house she lived in with Mister Big was five-star luxury. Now Carrie lives in a beautiful brownstone in Gramercy Park, which has no furniture – that could perhaps be explained – but this kitchen: When it was set up, the set designers were, in my opinion, on vacation.

Excuse me – an Ikea drying rack in Carrie's kitchen?
Carrie is not exactly known for her cooking skills, but she has moved on in life, because when Miranda stays over, she is outraged that Miranda has eaten her yogurt and the last banana. When Miranda says, „But you don't cook!“, Carrie replies that it used to be that way, but now she does eat. Besides, Carrie loves luxury and beauty and has taste and style. How can it be that she has an Ikea drying rack on her countertop? I had exactly that one as a student in the last century. Exactly that rack. It collapsed at least three times a week and destroyed several wine glasses – but that's just by the way.
A drip coffee maker? Seriously, Carrie?
And then this: an old-fashioned drip coffee maker? I know Americans love drip coffee, but Carrie should have a beautiful espresso machine! And then this little curtain under the sink that replaces a door? Like you see in an old Italian holiday home. Oh, I could go on for hours. I think I also saw a can of tomatoes being repurposed as a pencil holder. Carrie would rather use an empty Diptyque candle jar for that, right? This woman breathes style and class. The only thing I still find somewhat amusing about Carrie's kitchen is the sticker with Virginia is for losers, which is stuck to her fridge. I think that still doesn't fit Carrie in 2025, but it's a funny reference to Aiden's residence.
Why is Carrie's apartment never furnished?
Why is Carrie's apartment never finished? This was recently asked by host and program maker Andy Cohen to Sarah Jessica Parker. Why does it take so long for Carrie to furnish her home? There is currently only a bed and Carrie's chaise longue. It's not that hard to furnish a home – and Carrie has enough time and money. When Andy asks Sarah this question, she has to laugh. „Is it because Carrie misses her old apartment?" Sarah laughs and is silent. "Is she moving back?" asks Andy. Not answering is the best cliffhanger tactic. vermisst?“ Sarah lacht und schweigt. „Zieht sie zurück?“ fragt Andy. Keine Antwort zu geben, ist die beste Cliffhanger-Taktik.
Oh guys, I hope so much. Go get our girl and bring her back.
