Love & Sex

Just about that warm weather (and wanting to have more sex...)

About hot weather and feeling like sex

I notice it in everything. And I know you notice it too. In warm weather, you just feel hornier more often. Call it heatwave horniness, just look at vacations. Couples suddenly run around naked like Duracell bunnies through the hotel room. How come? Look, the sex researcher is at your service.

We have sex more often in the summer than during other seasons, that has been scientifically proven. But why that is the case, to this day, there haven't really been scientific studies done on it. But listen, a curious person like me just wants answers in this life. And quickly, a bit. I read on a simple forum ‘You wear fewer clothes, which excites the opposite sex.’ Okay, okay fair, but also quite obvious. Is there really no answer to be found that is more, uh, satisfying? (Okay, we're stopping with the silly puns now, I am also warm, yes.)

‘More desire for sex during warm weather’ I type into Google. I quickly look behind me to see if no colleague is walking by just now. Before you know it, you get the nickname Kiki Durex here.

The excuse ‘Yes, but that's work-related!’ was not believed by anyone here in the office when I was staring at gigantic spaced-out dildos and vibrators for twenty minutes. By the way, here is the proof, see: work. Ha!

Anyway, after thorough fieldwork, I come up with the list below. The heatwave horniness is a combination of various factors:

– We spend more time outdoors, among other things. Because we are outside more, there is also more social interaction and more contact simply leads to more sex.

– Due to sunlight, we feel more energetic and happier. And happy people are quicker to engage in rumpy pumpy.

– That warmth does something to you started as a baby in mama's belly. Warmth gives a feeling of security and protection.

– And yes, a lot of skin around you on the street does lead to excitement.

The lightness, the bare body parts, the lines of the body with less clothing, the dry air and the wind caressing the body, the healthy blush on your cheeks, the sand, the stickiness, it all makes us feel freer and more open and thus more receptive to intimacy.

– When it's warm, you sweat more. And in this body’s natural scent are pheromones. These are attractive to potential loversand unconsciously make you feel more attracted to another.

– Last fun fact: more sex in the summer months does not lead to more children. And that is due to researchers to a decreased sperm quality in the summer due to the heat.
