Rihanna reveals third pregnancy at Met Gala 2025

Pregnancy 3 Rihanna

Rihanna was the trending topic of the 2025 Met Gala by announcing her third pregnancy. The singer and fashion icon appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing an outfit that beautifully accentuated her baby belly, confirming her reputation as a trendsetter and a master at combining personal milestones with fashion.

Rihanna's third pregnancy revealed at Met Gala

On Monday evening, May 5, Rihanna arrived, as usual fashionably late, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She wore a custom-made outfit by Marc Jacobs: a men's suit-inspired dress with a pinstripe pattern, a cropped blazer, a separate collar and tie, and a wide-brimmed hat. Her baby belly was clearly visible, elegantly revealing her third pregnancy.

Her family: RZA, Riot and baby number three

Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, have been together since 2020 and already have two sons: RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot Rose, born in August 2023.

Rihanna has previously indicated that she is open to having a large family and said in an interview that she wants as many children “as God wants her to have.”

A$AP Rocky: partner and co-co-chair of the Met Gala

A$AP Rocky, in addition to his career as a rapper and style icon, co-chaired this year's Met Gala, along with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton and Colman Domingo. He appeared on the red carpet in a custom-made outfit that paid tribute to his childhood in Harlem, designed by his creative group AWGE.

The Met Gala 2025: theme and dress code

The theme of the Met Gala 2025 was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, with a dress code titled “Tailored for You”. This directive encouraged guests to personally interpret the heritage of Black dandyism and tailoring. The accompanying exhibition at the museum highlighted the history of Black style and dandyism, focusing on aspects such as heritage, presence and freedom.

Rihanna's interpretation of the theme

Rihanna's outfit was a masterful interpretation of the theme. Her ensemble combined traditional masculine elements with feminine elegance: a suit-inspired dress with a lapel front, a red tie with white polka dots and a bustle at the back for a feminine touch. She completed the look with an oversized fedora.

Other notable appearances

A dress code like this works a bit like a bag that's a bit too tight for too many things. it's awkward, but forces you to be creative. I thought this was perhaps one of the nicer dress codes of the Met Gala because the guests were forced-perhaps even more urgently than usual-to go back to the drawing board and tie fashion and heritage together. To alongside Rihanna, Zendaya appeared in a Bianca Jagger-inspired Louis Vuitton suit, while Janelle Monáe wore a striking blazer-shaped minidress. Colman Domingo honoured André Leon Talley with a sumptuous Valentino outfit.
