A bit about Sol de Janeiro
If you don't know Sol de Janeiro yet (hey, it happens – not), here's a mini-intro: this brand is inspired by the sun, beaches, and just the whole vibe of beautiful Brazil. They make skincare and bodycare that not only works but also smells like you're on a tropical island. Think of their famous Bum Bum Cream – yes, the one with that addictive delicious scent. For their limited edition fragrances, Sol de Janeiro collaborated with three fragrance heroes: Honorine Blanc, Jérôme Epinette, and Olivia Jan. All three are known for their creative noses (literally). And you can taste that – okay, smell that – in these three new body mists:
1. Flor Mística
Flor Mística is your perfect match if you're the type who brings home a new bouquet of flowers every week. This is how your bouquet comes back to life. The top note? Orange blossom – fresh, lightly sweet, and instantly sunny. Then it blooms further with a heart note of flamingo flower and Brazilian gardenia, as if you're standing in the middle of a tropical flower garden. And the base note of golden musk? That gives it that warm, cozy vibe that makes you keep smelling it (and others too - love this). It feels like you're walking into a flower field on the first day of summer – yes people, only 45 days left, this way you'll still get that summer body in time – and just think: you know what, I'm going to lie right in the middle of it.
Perfumer Honorine Blanc was inspired by the hidden gardens of Paraty in Brazil (read more about Paraty here). “I wanted to recreate the magic of Brazil,” she says. “The crashing waves, the warm sand, the salty air. This scent immediately envelops you in a romantic mood.” Well, mission more than accomplished.
2. Água Mística
Are you a true beach babe who prefers to go through life with salty hair and sunkissed skin? Then Água Mística is your perfect match. This scent has a sparkling top note of neroli and mandarin – nice and fresh and juicy, as if you're stepping into a citrus orchard. Then the heart note of peony subtly comes into play: floral, but not too sweet. And if you think it stops there: nope. The scent ultimately settles on a base note of a salty skin accord.
A salty what? A salty skin accord is a scent that reminds you of salty, sea-kissed skin. Sounds chic and smells like vacation – who wouldn't want this? 3. Dança Mística
Last but not least: Dança Mística – the scent for when you want to unleash your inner ‘samba’ queen . This scent opens with a top note of violet figs (yes, it smells just as exciting and juicy as it sounds), followed by a heart note of lily of the valley that keeps it nice and fresh and light. The scent ends warm and sensual with a base note of vanilla and sandalwood. Think: the sun slowly setting, music in the background, and you can't keep your hips still on a Brazilian beach. Kinda sexy, this scent. Oh and another lovely beachy scent: OUAI.
Perfumer Olivia Jan calls it “a party in a bottle.” And believe me: not a word of a lie. This is sultry, seductive, but never too much.
