These celebrities must appear in court this year

From ‘me too’ to assault, even celebrities are not saints. Every little house has its cross, so to speak, but some really go overboard. Recently, we have had a lot to process regarding well-known individuals who have (allegedly) broken the law. Do they think that no one can touch them, was it unconscious, or are they really innocent? We will find out in the coming time, as in 2025 a few of the most famous people in our country will stand trial. Time to refresh what exactly is going on.

Marco Borsato

One of the happiest and best singers in the country was accused in 2023 of misconduct with a minor girl. It would involve the daughter of a woman who managed Marco's fan club. The girl was reportedly 15 years old when it all happened. The tricky part about these kinds of accusations is always the evidence. Because often there is simply none. However, the girl is said to have kept a diary in which she described the events, but the authenticity of that diary has been somewhat questioned. According to Marco's lawyer, there are even 29 witnesses who say that the stories about the singer are not true (although this remains a complicated point). Another strange fact: the mother of the alleged victim has asked to settle the case so that they will receive a sum of money. Just before the climax of this trial, that is of course a bit strange...

Jeroen Rietbergen, a.k.a. ‘the man of’

The man of Linda de Mol worked as a musical director for programs like ’the Voice of Holland’. It is now known that more unpleasant things happened at that program, but Jeroen also seemed to be a kind of ‘leader’ in this. The disgusting messages he sent to employees and participants and the dirty comments he made during filming days were apparently not serious enough for the judges. The case has been dismissed due to lack of evidence. Linda also seems to have forgiven him, and so Jeroen is happily strolling down the street as if nothing happened.

Ali B.

His former nickname ‘cuddle Moroccan’ (which he initially got because he hugged then-Queen Beatrix, against all protocols) has unfortunately faded into oblivion since it became known that he is quite a horrible little man. Not only did he cheat extensively during his marriage, but he also treated girls like old trash. For a rape and an attempted rape he received a two-year prison sentence from the judge. Ali did not agree with this and decided to appeal. This will take place in April this year, and then we will hear whether Ali will get his way after all.

Inez Weski, former lawyer of Ridouan Taghi

She was one of the top lawyers in our country. Jutta Leerdam must have inspired her signature make-up look based on Inez Weski. A striking appearance, and you could easily call her the devil's advocate. Besides Ridouan Taghi, she has also represented the biggest criminals internationally, including Dino Soerel and Willem Holleeder. Unfortunately, something went terribly wrong when she defended Ridouan Taghi in 2023. It turned out that Inez was passing messages from Taghi to the outside world, to be precise: to his accomplices. This allowed the top criminal to still exert considerable influence on the Amsterdam underworld from his cell. Inez had to withdraw from the case, was even arrested, and spent 41 days in custody. This month, the case will come before the court.

Wim Hof, a.k.a. the Iceman

He trained the biggest Hollywood stars in breathing techniques, making ice baths a common practice. It has now become the norm for people to regularly jump into a bath full of ice cubes. Despite posing for a photo cuddling with people like Oprah, it seems that this man has been an aggressive maniac at home. For that reason, he has been charged with domestic violence.
