WIDM aftertalk: what's the deal with that tablet?
Episode 3

Do we still remember Rik's promise? Everything is different this season. But after the ‘there is still no mole’ bombshell from episode 1, I couldn't discover many new things. Until now. With a task during the test, we were all called back to attention. And does anyone understand exactly what's going on with Ray's tablet? We have plenty to discuss again.
Who is the nightingale?
With the first elimination and Teun's departure still fresh in memory, the group could use some relaxation. And what better way than a night of karaoke? All candidates get to sing a song twice, making a specific word clear to the rest. Each correctly guessed word is €300,- for the pot, as long as you sing well. The purer the singing, the larger the percentage of the amount you actually receive. Stijn's glitter pants make us think he already knew what was coming, so we jot that down too. Bridget kicks things off and wants to make the word ‘secret’ clear by singing ‘Een beetje verliefd’ by André Hazes. A reference to her relationship with Hazes junior, which was kept secret for a long time. A bit far-fetched if you ask me, although I must admit I can already see the Bridget tunnel appearing in the distance. Meanwhile, intense discussions arise about the details of the words to guess; or as Gabriel tries to phrase it nicely: a case of satisfying ants. This one can go on the list of favorite WIDM quotes. Gabriel is a bit of my spirit animal in this task. His words are not guessed, but I wonder how much money he would have earned otherwise. His singing was anything but pure, let's say it sounded a bit like how I sound during my home concerts. The creativity award goes to Sophie this time, with her rendition of Queen's ‘Somebody to lamp’ (no, that's not a typo). She also knew the song doesn't go like that, but how else do you make the word lamp clear? Unfortunately, still no money for her, pointing and signaling were forbidden; something Sam also seemed to have forgotten for a moment. With a yield of €1025,- instead of €5400,- it was a successful task for the Mole. Although the group was quite satisfied with these earnings for a night of drinking beer and singing off-key. Logical of course, where can we sign up for a paid night out?
An eventful night
One thing is clear again: in WIDM you can't let your guard down for a moment. What started as a relaxed dinner quickly turned into task 2. Sophie, Ray, and Stijn stayed away from dinner and only reappeared the next morning. All three look like they've had a rough night, but they can't say a word. Rik frees the group from the somewhat awkward breakfast to explain the next game: who of the three. Sophie, Ray, and Stijn all slept somewhere else. The big question: who among them slept at an abandoned airport? If the group guesses correctly, they earn €1500,-, otherwise, the liar gets two jokers. In a real press conference, the other candidates get to ask questions. For the first time, I catch Nora on a possible Mole action. Her questions were so vague that no useful answer could be given. A bit suspicious. Sophie and Stijn move through the interrogations with conviction, while Ray mainly responds to what the other two say and claims to have valuable information. The group believes Stijn is telling the truth; something that (here I go with my tunnel again) Bridget insists on, but which is not true. Off goes the money. Stijn also shares his jokers with her, which comes in handy. It was Ray who actually slept at an abandoned airport, terrifying if you ask me.
Smuggling a tablet
At the abandoned airport, Ray apparently found a tablet. On it was the video of his reaction to the news of whether or not he is the Mole. If he manages to smuggle the tablet along for the rest of the journey, he can see these videos from all the candidates still in episode 7. Are we assuming he will make it that far, or can the tablet also be passed on? I have a lot of questions. The other candidates can at least apply to Ray to learn more about this mysterious tablet. Then it's time for the test; one that the Mole, according to Rik, already knows will be different than usual. And how. In the middle of the test, the candidates suddenly find themselves in a new task, for which they also have to answer questions immediately. Again, Sam does everything to get a joker, money is not important for now. By the way, can someone explain to me why all the one-on-one moments with the camera were for him this episode? A rather unusual choice of editing. In all the chaos, there is elimination two, and my new favorite Gabriel has to leave the game. He dared to admit to his tunnel vision, and that turned out to be a bad move. He can now join Teun, while the rest, along with Ray's tablet, continue the journey. Meanwhile, we can try to get a bit of order in our new pile of notes; next week we will continue our search.
