Crime+Investigation: where can you find this true crime channel?

By

We are all a bit, well let's say quite heavily, addicted to crime series. And if we can establish a hierarchy, then the true crime series are definitely the most favorite. Simply because reality can sometimes be so much more unimaginable than a complete writers' room can come up with. Netflix is certainly not the only address for your crime obsession. There is even a whole channel waiting for you with an enormous overflowing collection of crime series. Think police archives, true stories, crime labs, the criminal underworld, you hear the stories of the affected families, the victims, and the perpetrators, the whole shebang. You can find all that at Crime+Investigation. This channel investigates, visits, and highlights the dark sides of life and is fully dedicated to real crime stories. The good news (or maybe you'll be a bit angry that I'm only telling you this now, sorry about that): you can simply watch Crime+Investigation via Ziggo, KPN, Odido, Canal+, DELTA, and NLZIET. With a bit of luck, it's already included in your basic package. So there's a good chance that this hidden gem has been waiting under your remote control for years.

Why can't we stop watching true crime?

Once you start a true crime series, it might just happen that you ignore that phone call from your mother under the pretense of that-can-wait-until-tomorrow-in-the-car-to-work. Or you think that you can take the dog out an hour later, so you can devour another episode. It's a bit like a puzzle of a thousand pieces: you only have peace when it's finished and you can answer the whodunnit question. We want to know how it is, who did it, and especially how no one saw it coming. And then the next day discussing it with fellow crime binge-watchers, that's almost therapeutic.

What makes Crime+Investigation so special?

The channel investigates the dark side of humanity and shows the stories that often inspire your favorite TV dramas. You get a glimpse into forensic laboratories, police archives, and courtrooms, allowing you as a viewer to sit next to the detective as they gather evidence and piece clues together. So no fiction, but the real cases behind the series you love so much. Those who have devoured De Eetclub and still can't get enough of interrogation rooms, hidden agendas, and buried secrets will find their next obsession here.

What programs can you watch on Crime+Investigation?

Famous titles on the channel include Menendez Brothers: Murder by Media, The People vs. Michael Jackson, Homicide Hunter, Court Cam, Aileen Wuornos: Damsel of Death (coming soon) and The First 48, in which detectives from the homicide department are followed in the first 48 hours after a murder. The idea behind the title is that if there is no serious lead within those two days, the chance of the case ever being solved is halved. The offerings change, so check the TV guide for what's on tonight, but for everyone who loves true crime, there's enough to fill an entire winter season.

Where do you watch Crime+Investigation?

Through your TV provider: Ziggo, Odido, KPN, Canal+, and DELTA have the channel in their offerings, as does NLZIET. With some providers, it's included in the basic package, while with others you choose it as an extra channel for an additional fee. The channel number varies by provider, so look it up in the channel overview of your own package or ask your provider.

Can you also stream Crime+Investigation?

Yes, and there are two ways to do it. With NLZIET Extra, you get access to extra channels, including Crime+Investigation, without a satellite or cable, live and on-demand, on three devices simultaneously. You can try that for free for 14 days. If you prefer to watch at your own pace, you can go to Crime+Investigation Play. For that, you sign up for a monthly subscription via Amazon Prime Video Channels and can stream directly on smart TVs, smart sticks, iOS and Android devices, game consoles, and via the internet.

Why should Crime+Investigation become your go-to channel?

Because you already watch it. You know, that evening when you scroll through videos about a cold case for three hours instead of sleeping. On Crime+Investigation, you have it all bundled in one place, with real detectives and real cases, without having to sift through an ocean of fiction first. There's a good chance the channel is already in your package, so turn on the TV tonight, look it up, and let me know which case grabs you first. I'll give you a heads-up in the coming time when there's another special series to watch, so you won't miss anything. I'm diving into the Menendez Brothers myself because I can't get enough of it.
