Beige sofa, beige wall, beige carpet and to top it off, a cream-colored cushion for a change. Don't get me wrong: I love a calm interior, but after years of beige, greige, and sand, I think it's time for a little color in the house. And luckily, the interior world feels the same way.

Because where we have massively opted for safe and natural in recent years, our interiors are slowly but surely becoming warmer, darker, and especially more colorful again. Think less showroom, more personality. And no, you really don't have to paint your entire living room right away, but if you're in the mood for a touch of color, these are the 3 interior trend colors that will score extra this autumn. bright red 1. Chocolate brown (chrome!).

If there is one color that forms the perfect transition from beige to something more exciting, it is chocolate brown. Warm, chic, and still easy to combine. Basically everything we loved about beige, but with just a bit more character.

From a chocolate brown sofa to a dark wooden cabinet, armchair, or a complete wall: it can all be done. And with chrome added? Love. And for all our Japandi lovers: chocolate brown and beige actually go very well together. See it mainly as the slightly more exciting upgrade of your current color palette.

2. Eggplant.

For all the burgundy lovers among us: we are also going a step darker at home. Eggplant and deep plum shades are appearing more and more often at home, just like in our outfits, and I totally feel it.

It's warm, cool, and gives even the most basic interior an instant touch of luxury. And before you think you need to grab a paint roller for the living room: absolutely not necessary. Start with an eggplant-colored vase or a few cushions on your sofa.

3. Olive green.

The light sage green from a few years ago is making way for deeper colors like olive and moss green. And honestly: green might be the easiest color from this list to add to your home.

It combines with wood, cream, beige, and brown. So even if your living room is still quite fifty shades of beige, green is definitely your color.

A throw on the sofa, a statement candlestick, a flower pot, or, for those who dare, a complete wall or even the ceiling in olive green. Just such a deep green shade can make a space incredibly warm and cozy. I'm considering my stairwell(s). Just don't know yet...

Beige doesn't have to go away

And before you think that everything beige should go straight to Marktplaats: definitely not. Beige remains a very nice base. The difference lies mainly in that little extra. Combine that calm base with chocolate brown, eggplant, or olive green, and suddenly the same interior feels much richer and more personal. Start small with a lamp, cushion, or vase and go from there.

Long story short. A beige interior? Still very beautiful. But we are definitely ready for a little color, right?.
