Kirsten Bell's character in the new season of Nobody Wants This is incredibly annoying

Yes, you heard it right. Nobody Wants This-season three is out and we have, uh, an opinion about it. Specifically about Kirsten Bell's character Joanne. After a brief breakup, Noah and she chose each other again at the end of season two. And Joanne? She is going to convert to Judaism. In this new season, they move in together and precisely because of that, all the annoying habits of our main character come to the surface. The headstrong podcast host we once fell in love with is not getting any more pleasant. The internet agrees with us: Joanne is terrible. But fortunately, there is still one other reason to watch, and no: it's not the handsome rabbi.
Note: spoilers for season three
Everything in Nobody Wants This season three revolves around Joanne
Now Joanne never really won the highest prize for modesty, but this season? Now it's really intense. It goes beyond her usual unfiltered comments and questionable choices: somewhere between falling in love and planning a wedding, that boldness has become exhausting. She always has to get her way, has comments on everything, and making a compromise does not exist in her dictionary. Take, for example, the wedding venue. Joanne agrees to a wedding in their parents' garden, but she immediately uses this concession as an excuse in the next argument she has with Noah. She does nothing to actually do something good, but to have an excuse ready to push her agenda.
And when she is not busy boring Noah with a hundred demands, she is mainly busy judging her sister. When Morgan tries to talk to Joanne about Sasha, she doesn't take the time to listen but already has her judgment ready. That is actually the most annoying thing Joanne does a lot this season: she gives no one else space. Her wedding is the most important thing ever, and what other people are dealing with does not concern her. Giving your sister something should not be more complicated than organizing your own wedding, right?
Season three Joanne only plays a role
Besides displaying the behavior of a three-year-old toddler who doesn't get a certain doll from the toy store, she is also extremely awkward this season. On the one hand, she knows very well who she is and what she wants, but at the same time, she is adapting enormously to be the best Jewish wife. What starts as a sweet gesture ends in a crazy outfit change into the neatest clothes Joanne has ever worn. And that adapting does not go easily. For herself and her surroundings, because all the frustrations that come with it, she takes out on everyone. On Noah, her sister: anyone you can think of. It seems as if we are no longer looking at Joanne, but at Eleanor Shellstrop, Kristen Bell's character from The Good Place. She was also a selfish woman who projected all her problems onto others. Only now it is not a point she grows out of, but something she remains stuck in.

The real reason why Nobody Wants This season three is a success: Sasha and Morgan
And then there are Sasha and Morgan. While Joanne and Noah are costing more and more energy, their brother and sister actually provide the tension for which you once started watching this series. That familiarity, those glances, that feeling that something can happen at any moment: yes, that's what we're here for.
After Sasha's breakup with Esther and Morgan's broken engagement, there is finally space to explore their feelings. Their bond works precisely because they bring something out in each other: Morgan pulls Sasha out of his comfort zone, while he gives her peace. Their love story is much more convincing than that of Noah and Joanne. Their trip to New York felt like we stepped into a different (now really good) romcom. It delivers exactly the tension you want: there is a hotel room with only one bed and two people who have been pretending to be ‘just friends’ for a long time. Although their relationship is not completely problem-free (because Sasha is not officially divorced yet), we as viewers are still cheering for them. That is what Joanne and Noah are now missing. We know the familiar tune and you can guess that they end up together.
So. We want Nobody Wants This to avoid Joanne. If I hear one more of her comments, I'm going to scream. But okay. I want to see more of Morgan and Sasha, so most likely I will still turn on a new episode tonight.
