Everyone knows someone who just takes a little longer to look at the bill when you go out to eat with a group. Or who brings their own bottle of water to a lunch date. I've seen them, you know. Some zodiac signs have just a bit more of a tendency for this than others. If you go on vacation with these types, you better keep an eye on your wallet... or just puff away your irritation when they want to split the bill down to the last cent. They can't help it; it's their zodiac sign that gets in the way.
Beware, these zodiac signs are known as the biggest penny-pinchers of the zodiac and oh my god, it turns out I belong to this group myself.
1. Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Slogan: “Why spend €3.50 on a latte when you can have free instant coffee in the hotel?”
Capricorns are practical, responsible, and super good at saving. Sounds ideal, right? Until you're on vacation together and they suggest walking instead of taking a taxi – while you're both dragging three suitcases.
A typical Capricorn won't easily go overboard with money, but they are always looking for the best deals. Five hours of Googling for the cheapest hotel? They'll do it with pleasure. Going out to eat? Then they secretly check TripAdvisor for ‘price-quality’. You can count on them, but spontaneously diving into a cocktail bar “because it's fun” isn't always in the cards. This doesn't completely apply to me; I probably have a very flashy ascendant, I suspect.
Vacation tip: Let them handle the budget – but sneak in a small ‘fun budget’ yourself.
2. Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Slogan: “I made an Excel sheet for our daily activities and expenses. Yes, with color codes.”
Virgos are organized to the core. Overview, structure, and a balanced budget can make a drop of foam come from the corner of your mouth. So you never have to worry that the vacation fund will be empty by day three with a Virgo. But... you also shouldn't count on impulsive dinners or luxury upgrades.
They are not stingy in the classic sense, but rather cautious. Every euro must be justified. So if you enthusiastically shout, “Shall we rent a jet ski?”, the Virgo says: “I thought we were going to the free museum today?”

3. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

During vacation, Scorpios can be a bit controlling when it comes to money. They want to know where their money is going, who pays for what, and whether it's all fairly distributed. They don't like waste, and can be quite strict – even with themselves.

4. Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Tauruses love comfort, good food, and a luxury vacation. But they only spend their money if it feels like a good investment. And that's tricky because your definition of “investment” (think: beach bar with a view) might not be the same as theirs (think: sturdy hiking boots that last for years).
Tauruses can be incredibly stubborn when it comes to spending money. They want value for their money and prefer to pay a little more for quality than waste money on trinkets. But once they are convinced, they will treat you generously – as long as they also enjoy it.

5. Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Aquarians are resourceful, independent, and a bit rebellious. And yes, sometimes also a little... well, frugal. Not because they necessarily want to save, but because they simply don't value “unnecessary expenses”. Why buy something when you can make it?
Going on vacation with an Aquarian means being creative. No five-star hotel, but a unique Airbnb in an up-and-coming neighborhood. No expensive restaurants, but local markets. Super fun – unless you were dreaming of room service and a spa.
