Day in day out, I look at Jet's giggle, who sits with her desk directly opposite mine. Great fun, but completely deadly for concentration. Tomorrow she is leaving me for three weeks. The child needs a vacation. So I thought, look, if you're fleeing the country anyway, you might as well tell us all your dirty little secrets. So here we go.

Who were you in love with when you were younger?

“I was head over heels in love with Jim Bakkum, but you can read all about it here. I'm still a bit into him by the way, and when his name is mentioned, I turn red.”

Which task do you always procrastinate?

“Paying bills. Only when I get a reminder is it serious and I take action. But not before. And returning online purchases, which I usually just don't do. Honestly, I could have been so much richer than I am if I had just returned all those little mistakes.”

What is your strangest trait?

“That I abbreviate all the words. The editorial team can finally understand and comprehend me after a year and a half. And they also adopt the words by the way. So studio becomes stu, birthday becomes vie, construction becomes construc, editorial is redac and Lies was not in Canada but in Can.”

Do you have an embarrassing hobby?

“I can spend hours filling my shopping cart at Net-A-Porter, then at the end see how expensive it is and then whoosh, take everything out. Super satisfying.”

What is your biggest addiction?

“Instagram. Really drives me crazy. I always tell my boy that I'm doing my admin because that sounds a bit less bad.”

Which guilty TV show can you secretly enjoy immensely?

“Definitely all the shows with Barbie in them. And Farmer seeks Wife, is that wrong? Oh, The Roelvinkjes, I really sit down for that.”

What does no one know about you yet?

“People always think I'm very tidy and organized, but it's really everything but that. My desk for example is constantly a kind of battlefield.”
