Oh boys, how much I love this: I'm going to my first race event this weekend, namely the World Series by Renault. Anyway, we are in love with Renault because they have the sweetest car ever. You probably don't expect this from me, but I'm a car enthusiast. I love watching Top Gear every Friday night (a silly British show about cars). I also have the tic, much to my husband's annoyance, of dropping my jaw at the most beautiful cars and turning my neck to look at them. Not very ladylike, but I can't help it.

But how do you actually look during a race?

Just kidding. Of course, I'm not going to copy the makeup of a grid girl. These girls are there to, how shall I put it politically correct to stand out extremely. I want to be seen, but with a subtle touch. I'm wearing a dark blue hat from Paul Smith (thanks Jet), so I'm keeping my eye makeup simple. During a race, it's crucial to be well protected from the sun. That's why I'm so happy with this new sun powder from Babor. It covers and protects. For my lashes, I use the Million Lashes mascara from L’Oréal which gives volume and length. I accentuate the outer corner of my eye with the waterproof Master Kajal from Maybelline. Then the striking dark brown color Intriguing from Estée Lauder for the lips.

As mentioned, I'm wearing this lovely little hat borrowed from Jet. Never wear a dress or any wind catcher, because before you know it, you're cheering on your derrière. So I'm going for a wide dark blue culotte from Zara. Mine is from last year's collection, but this the piece has something of it. It can get cold during a race, so a light top is not smart. I'm wearing a knitted Missoni top. Dit Mango shirt will also look nice (a bit simpler). Always wear layers to a race. It's windy, remember? That's why I'm going for a casual denim jacket from Topshop to break the look. The lovely Renault people recommended wearing flat shoes, but as rebellious as I am, I'm still wearing heels. With a platform, that I will say. I can really move easily on this treasures. It's not that I'm arriving with smeared sandwiches with peanut butter, but I do like to have something to nibble on. So as much as I would go for an elegant clutch, my jute Kenzo bag can come with me now. An alternative is this shopper.

Extra sunscreen is a must and earplugs are an absolute necessity. I can really cry with joy at the thought of hearing those roaring monsters, but I don't want to have a weeks-long ringing in my ears.
