That you can both have a very different kind of love for beauty is proven by opposites and Amayzine’s beauty editors Coco & Josselin. While one screams ‘full and striking’, the other says ‘subtle and small’. Glamorous glitter vs all day pink. Which eyeliner would you choose?
Coco: “I luvluvluv blue eyeliner. I've talked about this before.. I also think that every eye color can have this. Anyway, very few people dare to wear this color, so a solid ten for originality.”
Josselin: “Blue might be a bit on the intense side, but with a soft color eyeliner, you can never go wrong. It doesn't have to be boring, because in this case, I chose subtle metallics. A gold, a charcoal with glitter. I still find that quite daring.”
The winner: Actually, this round is a tie. It just depends on where your love lies. But I must admit, blue on the eyes is a bit more original. So Coco gets a point.
Coco: “Look, you can't really stand out with such a color, but we are by now skilled right? Besides, eyeliner is always easy to apply, so no complaining.”
Josselin: “You do need to be a bit handy, because if you mess up, you'll have glitter everywhere. And metallics are already full of glitter, and glitter is not very easy to remove.”
The winner: Again, with difficulty, a point for Coco. Actually, you need to have the right skills for both, but blue is simply a bit easier to redo than having to remove glitter from everywhere.
Coco: “Admittedly, blue doesn't go with every clothing color, so do pay attention to what you wear. Keep the rest calm and you're ready to go.”
Josselin: “I think I'm going to win this round easily. Metallics are always easy to combine especially if you choose gold or charcoal. They are basics that give daywear a little extra and nightwear manage to spice it up quite a bit.”
The winner: Of course. Josselin.
It was a tough battle. Coco won, but you could just call it a tie.
- Urban Decay Deep End, €18,-, is in a very deep turquoise color. Just beautiful. It really stays on all night, so jumping and dancing on the bar is allowed.
- Lancôme Khôl Hypnôse Waterproof 08, €25,95, is for the real diehards. If you decide to keep your makeup on for a week, this pencil will hold you up.
- Art Dec Soft Eye Liner 61, €5,95 is a bit subtler than the other two. So you can just wear that to work. Go ahead.
- Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Stylo 03, €24,95
An incredibly good eyeliner with which you can draw both thick and thin lines. For daytime, you keep it subtle and in the evening you amp it up a bit. And the color; way too beautiful. - Estée Lauder Double Wear 13 Gold, €21,95,
Nice color, not too intense, and really stays in the same place all day. In this case, no glitter that goes everywhere. - Chanel Stylo Yeux 987, €24,95
My favorite. The color is beautiful and it's a bit creamy so you can really draw a perfect line. Apply it a bit more in the inner corner of your eye, and you'll have an incredibly beautiful open look.
