Coco always comes in with quite a bit of noise and that is partly due to her new boyfriend. There has been a new darling on her desk for a while now, so we needed to know more about that. High time to dive into her bag.

How many bags do you have?

“Oh dear, I need to think about that. I estimate that I actively use about ten bags. But these are really not just designer pieces. For example, I’m crazy about a purple backpack from Zara. The requirement is that it’s made of leather.‘

How did you get this beauty?

“I scored this one last month to great joy at the Shoebaloo outlet at the Koningsplein. A typical case of ‘I really need this one’. In this case, that’s true, because I missed a large shopper that could fit my Macbook. A sort of upgraded laptop bag. And you wouldn’t believe how much time this thing saves me in the morning. Time? Yes, because I no longer have to think about what I’m going to take with me because not everything would fit. Now I just throw everything in. I even found a pair of socks in there. Always handy, haha.”

Be honest, are you a bit careful with it or do you throw it in a corner?

“I’m quite careful with my bags because I want them to last for years. I can already see that this Kenzo is fading at the corners. So it’s going straight to the cobbler tomorrow to get some sort of plastic covers put on.”

What does a bag do for a woman?

“A lot. A bag spices up your outfit, no matter what you wear. Last week I walked around from head to toe in vintage and my new Saint Laurent bag provided a good balance. That’s what I like. That’s why my bags are often eye-catching. Also my black piece from The Kooples, for example. That one is special because it has a lot of buckles.‘

What about the contents? Are you a chaotic person or neatly organized?

“Since my new big boyfriend, I’ve been making quite a mess, yes. The danger of having a lot of space is that you start filling it up. But usually, I clean my bag out once a week. And I just got a new toiletry bag from Sisley that keeps all my makeup together. Previously, it all went in loose.”

What do you always carry in your bag?

“Well, that new makeup bag, a brush, and I always have the ‘Twist and Spray’ from Chance in my bag. That’s a smaller version and comes with refill bottles. How handy? If I can, I also like to take my laptop with me and in this Kenzo, my new favorite drink fits too: the Starbucks Discoveries. These are delicious chilled coffees, which can simply be found in the refrigerated section of supermarkets. Super handy and they come in 5 different flavors, including Cappuccino and Skinny Latte, and I actually love all 5. Furthermore, I even find it nice if it’s a bit at room temperature, so I throw it in my bag in the morning and then I can enjoy it anytime and anywhere, at any moment of the day.‘

Do you notice that more doors open with a designer bag?

“No, not literally doors, but you do notice that you have a conversation topic at a party, for example. That new Saint Laurent attracts a lot of attention because of the pink color. And then I proudly mention that I received it as a gift from my boyfriend.”

We know you, you naturally go for a trendy bag. But does it also have to be practical?

“Not before, no. But since my big Kenzo, I find it really nice that I only need one bag for all my stuff. It saves me time and also pain, by the way. Because I always had stripes on my shoulders from those cheap fabric bags.”

And lastly, is there one on your wishlist?

“I have always wanted a Chanel , as long as I can remember. But I only want to buy one when I can really afford it. So that I can still eat, you know. Furthermore, I really find that Rainbow shoulder bag from Valentino a treat.”
